Dr. Tan Sian Wee
Dr. Tan Sian Wee is Senior Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise at the National University of Singapore, where he leads the university's innovation cluster. His career spans three decades bridging technology and venture building across Silicon Valley, Germany, and Southeast Asia. He was an early investor and patent holder in touch feedback technology at Immersion, built the spinout program for Germany's Fraunhofer Society, and advised Primesense, the Israeli startup whose technology became Apple's Face ID. In Singapore, he served as Operating Advisor at Monk's Hill Ventures and later as Group CEO of Finaxar, a fintech providing SME working capital. He also advises Elev8.vc, Singapore's leading deep-tech seed fund. Dr. Tan sits on Singapore's Pro-Enterprise Panel at the Ministry of Trade and Industry and mentors founders through the German Accelerator Southeast Asia and Scaleup.NRW. He holds an MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
